VNV Nation’s ‘Construct’ Echoes Through Seattle’s Goth Scene at OUTLAND

VNV Nation’s ‘Construct’: A Gothic Synth Odyssey and a Must-Play at Seattle’s Premier Goth Club

Seattle’s gothic and industrial music scene thrives on innovation and emotional depth, and VNV Nation’s latest album, Construct, delivers both in spades. Released on May 9, 2025, under Anachron Sounds, this twelfth studio album by the British-Irish electronic project led by Ronan Harris marks a significant evolution in their sound.

Construct is the first installment of a two-part series, with its counterpart, Destruct, slated for release later this year. The album features ten tracks, including singles like “Silence Speaks,” “Station 21,” and “By Your Side,” each blending anthemic beats with introspective lyrics.  The production, completed at VNV Nation’s Hamburg studio between May 2024 and January 2025, showcases a polished fusion of synthpop, futurepop, and electronic body music (EBM).

For enthusiasts of the gothic club scene, Construct offers a rich tapestry of sounds that resonate on the dance floor. Tracks like “Station 21” and “Frontier I + II” provide pulsating rhythms ideal for late-night revelry, while “Silence Speaks” and “By Your Side” delve into more melodic territories, offering moments of reflection amidst the energy. The album’s thematic exploration of duality and inner conflict aligns seamlessly with the gothic aesthetic, making it a compelling addition to any goth club’s playlist.

Incorporating tracks from Construct into our sets not only keeps our offerings fresh but also pays homage to the evolving landscape of gothic and industrial music.
